Sara Johnson grew up in cities across the country prior to settling with her husband in the Madison Valley.  Having grown up in crowded urban areas, Sara felt drawn to the simplicity of the smaller town environment.  During the spring of 1999, Sara was offered an opportunity to try life in a small town while working on a guest ranch in Ennis, MT.  The opportunity fit well with her schedule as an elementary school teacher so she packed her bags and headed east from Washington.  It didn’t take long for her to realize that small-town life fit her personality well and she soon made the move permanent, finding teaching jobs in the local schools.  Before long she had met and married her local husband and settled into the Ennis community permanently.    After working in teaching for nearly a decade, Sara decided to pursue another interest in real estate sales.  After receiving her real estate license, she continued to work full time in the classroom while selling real estate in her spare time.  In 2004, she studied to acquire her broker’s license and shortly after decided to work in the real estate field full time in order to better serve her clients’ needs.   Sara currently works full time for Fischer Realty as the managing broker for the Ennis branch office.  She finds that real estate gives her the opportunity to meet and interact with new people on a daily basis which is one of her greatest passions.  She prides herself on her exemplary service, honest nature, and hard-work ethic.

After graduating from The University of Montana in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education I returned to Ennis to pursue a job in the local school districts. Upon returning to Ennis I married another Ennis “native” and together we purchased an excavation company in the valley which we still own and operate today. Later that year I accepted my first teaching position as a kindergarten teacher in the Sheridan School District. Two years later I changed school districts and accepted a job as a kindergarten teacher in the Ennis Schools. After three more years of juggling teaching, coaching, Matson Excavation and real estate, I decided to pursue real estate full-time. 0

I believe a good agent should know her community inside and out. Having grown up in Ennis and coming from a family that has called the Madison Valley home for three generations, I feel I am knowledgeable and capable of providing you with the quality service you would expect from a hometown realtor.

As your agent, it is my responsibility to fully educate, inform and assist you as a seller or a buyer. I will go the extra mile while helping you buy or sell property. Your interests and goals are my number one priority.

After many trips from Colorado up to the Madison Valley in the early 1990’s, I made Ennis my home in 1995.  I fell in love with the wide open spaces of the Madison Valley and the warm western charm of Ennis and its people.

I’ve enjoyed my 8 years in the real estate business in the Madison Valley.  I joined Fischer Realty 2 ½ years ago as both Sales Associate and Office Manager.  Board memberships include member and officer in our local Madison Beaverhead Board of Realtors, also Montana Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the Southwest Montana MLS.

I first moved to the Madison Valley in the spring of 1999 from Crested Butte Colorado and set up residence in Virginia City.  Managing the Nevada City Hotel for the season, I fell in love with the mountains and valleys of Southwest Montana.  The autumn of that year as the snow began to fall I was drawn to the skiing and mountain living of Big Sky and spent the next seven years working for and eventually managing the luxury resort The Big EZ Lodge.

My seven years with the management team at the Big EZ Lodge; and over ten years experience in the hospitality industry have taught me, that attention to detail, proper planning and team building are essential to the success of any business venture.  Recently moving back to Ennis I find real estate sales to be a logical progression for my career and work towards contributing to the responsible, managed, development that is essential to preserve the small town way of life I cherish here in Ennis and the Madison Valley.

My passion for skiing and fishing is what brought me to Montana.  The healthy lifestyle and friendly people are what keep me here.  The Madison Valley is a special place and I enjoy meeting new people and sharing with them the beauty of this unspoiled land.

As your real estate agent, Shylea has several strengths to offer a buyer or a seller.  Her local knowledge of Madison County stems from growing up on cattle ranches in both the Madison Valley and Ruby Valley.  She also worked for a local title company so she has a through knowledge of the ‘closing process.’ In addition, Shylea has a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University and has worked professionally in the agricultural lending and economic consulting industries.  Her experience with financial lending, mortgage payment options and investment analysis will be helpful in assisting you finance or invest in a property.

Because Shylea has lived, worked and traveled out-of-state she can identify with client’s intrigue of this area.  She believes in educating the buyer or the seller about the local real estate market.  Sharing information about financial value, as well as, the recreational value and other intrinsic opportunities may help clients make the best “investment” or financial decision.

Let Shylea show you all this area has to offer.   She and her husband, Jeff, live, work and are raising their two sons in the Madison Valley.   One business they own and operate is a local horseback/outfitting business and she often quips “as a guide it is my job to make the right fit for horse and rider; with real estate it is my job to fit people with property”.
